New relaxer = breakage?

My regular hairdresser doesn't allow children, have to go to a new one now. My sister has just relaxed her hair with a different relaxer to normal and there is now breakage. Is this due to new relaxer or just the fact that she's pregnant.

Thanks

It could be the pregnancy because her hair may be weaker due to that. My doctor advised me not to even dye my hair when I was pregnant because the chemicals can get into the body and they don't know what those chemicals can do to babies in the womb. Ditto for relaxers and perms.

Is hair breaking from new growth or from old growth primarily? That might tell you if its new relaxer.

Hi twoboysmom, she just relaxed the side b'coz she said it needed it - I personally just would have put some gel on it.

I decided against using a new relaxer and just got a treatment. The hairdresser said it would have been alright but I decided against.
