Dd matted hair help

Dd has been down with a virus for a couple of days, nothing serious just the normal bugs 4 yrs olds pick up. Problem is her her tight curly mixed race hair. She's not let me touch her head for these last few days & now it's tightly matted at the back of her head, even though its been tied back when she sleeps. Feel really bad that I've let it get matted, any ideas on how I can get these knots out?

Comb through with while covered in conditioner? Wide tooth comb or a Tangle Teezer (I've heard they are good, but never used one myself.

Good luck!

yep i agree, detangle while wet with conditioner (better if its sulphate free) wide tooth comb. i have tangle teezer but i find i can detangle my daughter hairs alot better with the comb. then use microfibre towel to dry (you can pick these up at 99p shop) moisturise/oil the hair then braid it up every night to stop knotting. hope this helps! :)
