Hi rocker, signing of for tonite, but maybe able to help you out over next few days. So just post what sort of thing your looking to make and i will try and get back to you. If i take a while its cause my memmory is terrible.
PS our gujrati food has an east african twist, dont know if thats what your looking for.

onion paratha that used to make me feel better when i was ill have the gram flour, chiilli and grated onion but what other spices?

red mullett fish curry - mum used to fry some spices and garlic and ginger and make a marinade for overnight then make a fab curry with the fried fish steaks

crab in a spicy sauce - again great for colds

ok i shall try to explain.

they are from india...do not speak gujerati, but have similar food, cultural ideas. My mil speaks urdu, not pure urdu, like pakistanis, but with a hindi accent. My husband syas he is not gujerati, although i think that cast aside they do have similar culture to gujeratis. Please correct me if im wrong and elaborate on pure gujerati culture?

Just seen this thread, my dp is gujarati. IME gujarati is quite different from other indian cultures. rocker - those recipes don't sound gujarati to me, most are strict veggies anyway. Fish recipes often come from south india. going4potty - are you still around? I'd like to be cheeky and ask for a couple of recipes if so!
