Hi Everyone

I've just had offer accepted on house that need extension - I'm not up to the limit on how much I can borrow - will the mortgage company lend me more so I can build the extension? Once done it will be worth a lot more than it is now.

Usually yes. It will depend on how close you are to the borrowing limit and how much as a percentage of value the mortgage already is (i.e. if 100% mortgage v. unlikely to get anything more). Otherwise can you pay off part of it and then re-borrow the rest to build the extension.

In that case you should be fine. You could always start by getting some quotes and talking them through with your mortgage company. Good luck
