With child benfit it doesn't make any difference of the age of the child except that the eldest gets slightly more.

I don't know how much for 2 kids. I have 3 and get £158 a month.

LIZS · 12/08/2005 16:20

According to here ypu shoudl get £28.40 per week.

Nemo1977 · 12/08/2005 16:21

i get 68 a month for one and i think for db it will be a extra £11/12 a week

nailpolish · 12/08/2005 16:21

Can't remember the exact amount but it's about £110 a month for 2 children. Ds1 gets £17ish per week and ds2 gets £10ish per week. Their age is irrelevant.

nailpolish · 12/08/2005 16:23

THEY MADE A MISTAKE, AND REFUSED TO GIVE ME BACKDATED MONEY (THEY SAY ITS MY FAULT COS I DIDNT NOTICE) THEY HAVENT EVEN RECTIFIED IT

£68/month for one two-year-old.

SaintGeorge · 12/08/2005 16:23

£113.60 if paid monthly - because they don't actually pay monthly, it's 4 weekly.

nailpolish · 12/08/2005 16:24

thats what i get, £68, ive told them a million times about dd2 but its just not getting sorted

off to punch a cushion and cry

I thought they always backdated up to 3mths as you have to claim by time baby is 3mths or anything over wont be paid.

nailpolish · 12/08/2005 16:25

they have told me ill get it backdated 3 mths, yes, but its not getting done

OP posts:
nailpolish · 12/08/2005 16:26

i told them when dd2 was 3 mths, so they have been telling me ill get it backdated etc etc etc etc, still not been backdated, therefore ill lose out on 7 mths money (cos dd2 is 10 mths now) and im still only getting what i did for dd1 alone

OP posts:
SaintGeorge · 12/08/2005 16:26

Have they told you that verbally or in writing? If you have it in writing then they are screwed and will have to pay you all the backdated money. Unfortunately if it is only verbal you won't be able to prove the date they had dd2's details.

nailpolish · 12/08/2005 16:27

cant even bring myself to add up what the total amount is that ive missed out on

OP posts:
nailpolish · 12/08/2005 16:27

verbal

SaintGeorge · 12/08/2005 16:29

Do you have dates for when you have spoken to them?

If you have, then try ringing back and asking to speak to a supervisor then get them to check the recordings and any data entries on your file.

A friend had to do that and she did get the cash in the end because the proved somebody cocked up at the IR.

SaintGeorge · 12/08/2005 16:30

Sorry, CB office not IR. Same difference though, all stupid government departments that don't give a damn.

LIZS · 12/08/2005 16:37

As St G says, do you have any evidence of when you notified them. Also you could argue that if another Govt dept knew (ie. for tax credit etc) then she was already in the system.

We also lost out for dd but had been overpaid for ds (while living abroad). They could reclaim the overpayment more than 3 months previous but we could only claim 3 months retropsectively for dd.

expatinscotland · 12/08/2005 16:43

Yet another reason why I never do things verbally w/any government agency anymore. It's all letters posted via recorded delivery.
