We are thinking of opening one and having our mortgage through them, does any one else have one? Any advice appreciated.

i have an offset mortgage but not with virgin 1. its very good if you have savings and quite a lot of money going through your account. we've saved a fortune in interest on the mortgage, particularly with ir on savings so low.

I have the virgin one account, and its brilliant. It has saved us a fortune on interest, and because of the way it works we are getting the mortgage paid off quickly too.

what advice would you actually like?

Are they as good as they seem, would a fixed mortgage be better at the moment. Has anybodies rate gone up? General stuff really?

well, you can get an offset mortgage with a fixed rate. we love ours because everything is one pot, and i'd rather have it where you can see it all and you know you are reducing the mortgage as much as possible, which is very important for us.

i think its a good idea to look at all offset mortgages and the best rate you can get, rather than fix on one provider.
