Living Together Costs?

Please can you help? I'm trying to work out potential living together costs for myself, my DD and DP, presently I'm on my own with DD in London with DP in Berkshire. I'm very new to London so struggling to work out some local living together costs - its been so long! I don't think we should just add up our single living together costs so any advice you could offer would be much appreciated..

I'd say we live fairly happily - but def not all extravagently - independantly so would like to maintain this standard of living together.

We have a mortgage in place so know how much we would be paying on this but there are other costs I'd like help with please:
Council Tax (London Zone 3)
Food - for 3 people
Electricity
Gas
Car insurance for a golf type car
House insurance - zone 3, 3 bed property

Any other costs.
Many thanks!

Hello,

You might find some of the information you are looking for (electricity, gas, insurance) on www.uswitch.com, and www.upmystreet.co.uk will have the council tax by bands, if you put a post code into it. I'd guess that a 3 bed place would be at mid to upper end of the council tax bands. My friend lives in a 2 bed flat in Greenwich (zone 3), which has council tax of about 1,200 a year.

Are you going to lose any benefits by moving DP in, as you should factor that cost in too? For example I am a widow and would immediately lose my Widowed Parents Allowance if I moved in with someone.
