I've just applied for one of these (they act so you "load" them with money) and was wondering if anyone else had? I've got it so as to save for the children's Christmas presents, and thought this would be a good way to do it. Anyone else had one?

Yup. I've got a cashplus card.

Really great. No problems at all. can load at moneyshop, post office or even do it online from your bank. They also do this credit builder thing where they 'loan' you (you don't actually get the money!) a years worth of fees and so they mark your payment on your credit file every month. Very helpful if you've had problems in the past.

Sorry - it's not directly what you asked, but if you find you want to try something else, there's a building society account that recently was given a best of market rating for helping savers achieve their financial goals (like saving for Christmas presents), with special facilities for doing it.

It's called moneytree, with the saffron building society:

saffronmoneytree.saffronbs.co.uk/SavingsManager

Best of luck!
