Anyone know how many mortgage payments you need to miss before the Bank repossesses the property? thanks.

Northern Rock used to start proceedings after 3 I believe.

am not sure, but it would be wise to phone the company and talk to them first instead of just letting it get reposessed

You get much longer if you stay in contact, keep them informed, and pay at least some of the interest payments
have you switched to interest only?

Make an appointment with CAB as soon as you can.

You haven't given a lot of details but is there any chance you can take a mortgage holiday or swap to an interest only mortgage?

The worst thing you can do is bury your head in the sand and not communicate with your mortgage provider.

Thanks for all your helpful advice, the property is in Scotland rented out as we live abroad and our mortgage deal came to an end and suddently became 5x the price, more than the rental income and we just cannot aford to supplement it. Looks like DH might have got a new deal so we break even, phew. Thanks again Hasten to add that we wouldn't have not paid the mortgage whilst we had a tenant in the property!
