A few (basic) Q's about tax credits - can someone help please?

FIrstly, do they change as of April 1st? We haven't had anything through about how much DH has earnt, or is it done Jan - Jan? I think he has earnt more this year.
Secondly, 'how' do you get working tax credit? We have some now but checked out the tax credit thing online and it says 0 - do you have to be on less that about 16k for that?
Thirdly, is child benefit/tax credits/DLA classes as 'other income'?
And last one, DC3 is due in June - I cannot remember last time, do you ring and say you have another child and they then sort it all out?
O, last last one, the childcare thing - DS is in pre-school but I am still at home, are they referring to childcare so you can work? He just goes for the 15 hours a week and I don't work.

If i remember rightly,they start sending the renewal forms out any time now.It has to be filled in and sent back before the end of july.You will then get your new rates and hopefully won't have an overpayment.
Working tax credit-all i know is you have to work more then 16 hrs.
You won't get the childcare part because you don't work.You only get that if you both work or you are a single parent.
I would ring and inform them when you have had DC3.But i think you have to have already recieved your child benefit before child tax add baby on.
I don't think child benefit/tax credits/DLA is classed as income but it may depend on who is asking about other income.
