my oh has been given a tax code of d0 which means that he has two jobs. this is wrong. the mistake has probebly come from getting his holiday payfrom his old job and wages from new job at the same time in jan.
anyway he cant get through to the tax office and i was wanted to know how long it will take them to refund as we are £1000 short this month.
anyone had any experiance of this please

DH got one. (Or rather two as he got sent two separate and different codes.)

Phoned up the tax office and was sorted out straightaway. Apparently a computer glitch means they are sending out loads of wrong codes! Sorry to hear that you can't get through though and that OH had already been taxed on that code.

thanks poppy. he has got through now. they have said that they will amend his code and the difference will be in next months pay packet. doesnt really help this month but at least its sorted

Refund will only be in March pay if HMRC advise employer of revised code in time for payroll cutoff. If that doesn't happen it will have missed the end of the tax year and he will need to apply to HMRC for the refund (write a letter giving income details and amount of tax deducted for the year).
