I dont know if this is the right place to put this, but here goes.
Im a Secretary and a few years ago I had to take the minutes on a disciplinary at work. The meeting lasted 5 hours, I was doing shorthand verbatim for the whole 5 hours without a break. Now I am in alot of pain in my right hand, cannot do shorthand for any length of time, i would struggle to take down a standard letter anymore. I get pain just writing down a message in full hand let alone trying to write at speed.

My question is, do you think I coiuld make a claim about this, as i have recently been looking for another job and noticed a very good one, but they wanted someone who could do shorthand. i rang the agency and they said it was a definite stipulation that they wanted at least 60-100wpm shorthand (which is what I used to be able to do). I realised then that I cannot now apply for jobs like this!!! where do you think I stand, as it was a few years ago, but im still working for the same company?
