Has your lender's ceiling on the SVR been removed?

My lender - Skipton has just given us notice that their SVR is going to go up from 3.5 to 4.9%. They say the ceiling on the SVR is removable in exceptional circumstances which they say exist at the moment in the current economic climate . We were just taking a breather from the reduction in our monthly payments after our fixed term expired in Oct and we went onto the SVR.

Has this happened to anyone else?

I think Barclays are doing this to me!

Got a letter stating it was going up to 4.49% from 2.29% I think it is. Unfortunately I am not in a position to move right now.

Oh bother. Bet this is about to happen to us

I think it's outrageous. I'll be looking out to see how many others are following suit.

Xales - Barclays SVR is 4.99% at the moment. Are you maybe just coming to the end of a particular product?
