refunding clubcard points?

Couldnt think where to put this...

If you bought something, and you got xxx amount of clubcard points, (quite a few), then you returned aforementioned item, do they deduct points?

Or do they reserve the right to, but never actually do it?

there is a sign up at my local Tesco's customer service desk stating that points will be deducted when refunds are made

Years ago I worked for tesco clubcard...they were running some promotion with B&Q where you could buy a new fitted kitchen and earn LOADS of points!! There were a few cases of the purchases falling through for whatever reason and the extra points were deducted.

So yes I guess in practice they might take back the points.
