Question re entitlement to benefits

I have been sahm mum but trying to get back to work. I have never claimed any benefits. It has just ocurred to me that as things are tighta nd as I am trying to return to work (and not being v successful) that there may be some kind of benefit I am entitled to.

I know all benfits are means tested so does anyone know what amount your household income reaches which means tht you don't get anything.

Also I know if you have a certain amount of savings you are not entitled to anything either - anyone know what this level is.

Finally we have never claimed child tax credit or working tax credit (I supect we should have). Does anyone know if this can be backdated at all?

Thanska all

You may get JSA to start with. You could also do a quick calculation here or on entitledto.co.uk for benefits. They can backdate up to 3 months of tax credits or more in limited circumstances.

16k is the savings limit.
