Remortgaging - an idiots guide please

its looking like we nay have to remortage to get some money to pay for a new car and central heating, can someone please explain this to me in simple terms?

have a look on moneysupermarket.com you know that David Lewis site, we got a great booklet from there about remortgaging when we did ours in Sept, peasy to read and understand

Phone up your current provider and ask for additional borrowing.

They may offer a loan to tie in with the length of your existing mortgage, at a rate similar to your mortgage but probably higher. There may well be a fee. Or they may add to your existing mortgage and extend the term to make the existing payments the same.
