Where has my maternity allowance gone??! (pls help)

hello...
just wondering if anyone knows how long it takes for ur maternity allowance application to be processed and etc? do they actually tell u whats going on? is there a number i need to call or something? i applied for maternity allowance last week, and i still havent heard anything! its frustrating

I think I sent mine one Thursday, then had confirmation back in just over a week (a Tuesday possibly...) telling me they would pay it, and when the first payment (including arrears) would go in.

It's probably caught up in the postal strike. If you assume 1.5 weeks turn around, plus days of strikes, then you will probably have to wait 2 to 2.5 weeks

I live in Manchester, but had to apply to the south west (?!?) Hope that helps.
