I haven't yet managed to pay back the £1000 overdraft I had from Uni. Now I've just had my second child and can't go back to work yet.

I can't afford £30 a month, it's ridiculous.

Hmmmm........my credit rating was poor few years ago, but def better now. I reckon DH will just want to get rid of it...........sigh. Not sigh for getting rid of it, just a general one!!

I also have dfficulty proving who I am as have no bills in my name, credit card is still in maiden name and so is passport as have never used it anyway

maxybrown regarding your ID those 2 things should be fine - just take your marriage certificate too.

You could always try to switch. Most places can give you a quick decision - either straight away or within 24hrs.

Just don't make more than one application as it'll show on your credit file.

Ok thank you. What an extra shitty time of year to do it to everyone too. I can't see how it is going to help anyone at all.

Hi I have missed all the threads about the Halifax and just fallen foul of them.
It is our joint account and both our salaries get paid into own accounts then into Halifax. This month direct debits have gone out on same day DH salary has gone in and we have been charged £70 due to two direct debits.

Does anyone know where I stand as the unhelpful bitch on the phone said that I couldn't have a refund as I had already had one about 2 years ago as a good will gesture.
I then argued that the money was in the account on the same day and we have never actually gone overdrawn therefore why were we getting charged. She said the money had to be in there at 5pm the working day before the direct debits were due out.

I am sure this can't be right? Can anyone point me in the right direction please
