Donating a cross trainer to a charity - tax deductible?

We have a cross trainer we no longer use and are about to give up trying to sell it since ebay and gumtree haven't worked out and we need to create space in bedroom for a cot. So we are thinking about giving it to a suitable charity (youth group or something). DH sugested such a donation may be tax deductible (I complete a tax return every year) but I thought it was financial donations or property and think is unlikely.
(Cross trainer was £400 new- now probably worth about £150ish)

Any ideas?
