How quick do solicitors hand out money?

My dm is moving next week and moving to smaller house. Does solicitor have to send her a cheque for all the money she will recieve or can she get it paid direct to her bank ?

Its up to her, her solicitor will if requested send a CHAPS payment direct to her bank and charge her something in the region of £25 for it. If she prefers they can send a cheque including any accrued interest on the sum.
