Tax Credits - Overpayment

Inland Rev reckon we owe just over £400 to them as we are no longer entitled to credits. Where do I stand regrding re-payment and what will they do if they don't get it?

Something similar happened to us, but is was (only!) for around £80. I appealed, as I had told them many times that I thought we were no longer entitled to the amount we were receiving. It took around 7-8 weeks, and we received a letter stating we did not have to pay any money back. Not sure of the reason though, but good luck.
