Housing benefit question..........

I've been on housing benefit since 1st Feb this year. Hoping to move out of here quite soon, but won't be eligible for HB when I do - which is fine - DH is waiting to here about the interest help for the mortgage (and no reason they should say no afawk).

However, I'm trying to work something out.

If I move out at the end of June I'll have been here 21 weeks, HB will have only given me 18 1/2 weeks (roughly) worth of HB. Would I still get a part payment after I've moved out (and am no longer entitled to HB to cover that amount) - are you with me???

yes i think you would, because even though you pay your rent in advance, hb pay it in arears, so they would be paying you back the money you have already paid to your current landlord - i think that makes sense!

Yes because HB is paid in arrears.

For example when I moved house recently I recieved 3 weeks HB for my old address, 2 weeks after I had moved.
