Had a letter from the tax credits asking for me to call them to go through my details again with them. Is this normal?

They may have cocked something up their end and need your info again?

It filled me with dread when this happened. had they overpaid etc, but was all ok!

Ask them directly. Why do they need to ask again?

It's a different phone number, not the normal 0845 one. The letter said it was to check they had not under/overpaid me but they do this yearly anyway when I call in with my yearly earnings.

I'd phone the normal 0845 number and ask to be put through to the relevant section - just in case.

They called me re something about hubby. They said is that Mrs Inscotland to which I said yes before they asked me to confirm my address and date of birth! I think not so I told them to write to me.

Thanks. They have never written a letter like this before, I was a bit worried. I'm self employed, I've not had the same amount of work for a little while so am constantly thinking of ways to make some money. It would be really difficult if they have overpaid me as the money's not coming in as fast as I would like. I have multi-tasking down to almost perfection!
