Catalogue Fraud Mum used false name

My mother has been caught using a false name to obtain items off catalogue. She broke down yesterday and told me what she has done.

She rang the catalogue company up and they put her through to their legal dept, they told her they they will do her for fraud unless she admitted it, they said they had her voice recorded, she broke down admitted it over the telephone and they said she would receive a letter that she has to sign and send back.

She was told "you have 1 chance and you must never do this again".

I am worried sick, the silly woman has done this before. She suffers from depression and is just recovering from breast cancer.

The police have not been involved, I know its wrong what she has done, but I can't help thinking the way this was done over the telephone was way out of order.

Her friend was there and told me she was sobbing and begging them on the phone.

Any idea what will happen or has anyone been in a similar position

Can you contact them and explain to them that she suffers from depression and try to make a plan with small montly repayents?
