Credit rating

We had a tenant whom we kicked out some months ago. He left owing us several grand. Letters arrive at that address from debt collection agencies all the time. We cannot send them on so send them back.

However, in the last few days letters have been arriving for him at our address. Two of these letters were opened accidentally; one threatening bailiffs over a couple of hundred quid and the other the same but for over £25K

Obviously we will contact these people and tell them he never lived here and we don't know where he is, but we are worried about our credit rating. DH thinks it goes by address. I thought that was no longer legal.

The easiest way to see is getting a 3 month or is it 1 month (can't remember) trial to access your credit report with experian on line. You register and can look all within about 10 minutes. It should be with your name but if there is anything strange on your records you can write and ask for it to be removed/amended.

Just google experian and you will see what to do.
