I am such an idiot-have forgotten to pay my credit card two months running!

I.e. have ended up going in to the banks the day after payment due (have had a really hellish few months so credit card was the last thing on my mind!). What is this going to do to my credit rating? I have ALWAYS paid on time, never miss a mortgage payment or direct debit-it this going to obliterate my credit rating?

It will damage your credit rating in today's climate. However if you are not planning on applying for a big loan or mortgage in the near future you can fix that.

I already have a mortgage, and don't need to change for at least 5 years (I rent it out, and won't be buying "my" house for AT LEAST 5 years, so it will be around then). I feel like such a stupid dunce! Can you answer my uniform question twinset? Please? You are an educational fountain of knowledge!

Will do quickly and then have to go to bed.

It will show up on your credit reference file.

Why not set up a direct debit for either the full amount or at least the minimum - that way, you'll be covered in case life gets in the way again

It is hard when life gets in the way - I'm being really anally retentive about our credit card at the moment and setting up "future payments" for our card because I'm almost 35 weeks pregnant and am worried about missing the payment (don't really want to DD here as it's not as "good" as the UK way LOL)
