Is it financially worthwhile fo me to return to work?

I am currently a stay at home mum of a 4 year old, 2 year old nd 8m old. Dh is working but we get a housing benefit top up. I am considering returning to work part time or temporarily full time as I am DESPERATE to pay off some debt and learn to drive! But would we just be the same off if we hve to pay more rent? Please help!

To be honest, your best bet would be to make an appointment at the local citizens advice bureau. They will sit down with you and advise you to what you are/arent entitled too and then you can work out whether its worth going back to work...that's if you are worried about losing money if you do go back to work iyswim?

I think the maximum childcare contribution available through Childcare Tax Credits is £300 per week, so that might be your main obstacle. The Job Centre and Tax Credit helpline offer back to work calculations.
