Can anyone tell me about the firm 3i?

I work for one of the companies 3i owns. I've read snippets about them having financial problems but as I don't know anything about finance, if anyone's familiar with what's happening with them, could they give me some info on it.

I'm not sure. I just know they're a private equity firm. As you can tell, I'm don't know anything about our owners or backers.
