18 month mobile phone contract

Hi,

DH finished an 18 month contract with Orange in Oct/Nov, he rang up to terminate the contract as he had got another with Three. We have just received a bill for £60 for 2 months worth of line rental for Orange. He rings Orange to enquire and he told they didn't document the phone call so he has to pay this and another bill in 30 days!! Is this right?

Also, he hasn't even had the phone on since Nov, not even charged up, yet the bill states 11 mins of call usage.

Thanks.

Not sure, but dh had v similar with vodafone.
he called them to termintae 12 month contract and they said fine etc.
Then he had a bill as he hadn't put it in writing.
I htink he complained so much that they backtracked on it.
