In effect they took the wrong amount out by DD (over £600 too much).

I have tried to sort this problem out with them for the last 2 weeks so have lots of problems with my current account.
It seems that it is finally moving on but I am in the process of writing a complain and I am planning to ask for compensation for all the hassle as this is the second time we have had some problems with them.
Do you think it's OK?

Do we think what is ok?
Ok that you are writing a letter of complaint and asking for compensation?
Yes definitely.

Speak to your bank for advice - it should be covered by the DD guarantee.

Creditcardproblem110 · 23/02/2009 11:23

What is the DD guarantee?

This is

Creditcardproblem110 · 23/02/2009 11:26

Flier, yes I meant 's it OK to ask for compensation?'
I am furious and am quite convinced that not a lot will happen if they don't feel they will to pay for it iyswim.

Dd guarantee is basically that the bank agrees to be jointly responsible for the money being taken correctly and resolving problems quickly if they aren't.

If it hasn't worked, then asking for compensation is absolutely fine.

Creditcardproblem110 · 23/02/2009 11:27

Thanks, I will add that to my letter of complain.

and if you don't get anywhere you should involve the banking ombudsman. Have you had any charges incurred on your a/c as a result?

Creditcardproblem110 · 23/02/2009 11:34

No not this time as we were lucky enough to have that sort of cash on this account. However this is unusual...

It's more the fact that we have had the problem once before and this time I feel I have been treated like s*. So I don't want to let that one go unnotice.

It certainly is not acceptable for this amount of money o be taken once, but twice? I hope you manage to get a satisfactory response from them.

Creditcardproblem110 · 23/02/2009 11:39

I even have found a template letter for that sort of situation on the bacs website!! Hurray!

Charge the cc company interest on the money they have taken from your account. Imagine what they would do if you borrowed money from them and did not pay it back.
