things looking bleak.
any clever bods still around who might know.. i presently work 15 hours (guaranteed) per week, plus up to an extra 8... so should the worst happen, should i aim to work extra or would be lose any possible entitlement, to housing benefit. etc., etc.,?

Sorry to hear things are looking grim. Would he get redundancy pay?

Tbh - this sort of thing is very complicated - you might be best getting an appointment at citizens advice because they can look at your whole picture. What industry is your dh in - is it likely to be a long time before he can get another job?

thank you NL.
and no, i suspect he would be just laid off.
he is in steel industry, and it is friday 13th tomorrow! actually it is every friday he gets the jitters about it.
will ring citizens advice.

It may be worth doing something like a paper round, shift at a pub anything so you are def working 16 hours per week so you count as working for CTC
