An Insurance Question for all you experts!

I have 2 cars, both Insured with separate companies as Fully Comp. Both have their own different No Claims bonuses and both have different named drivers (one id DH, one is DH, DD & friend for emergencies).

Now, if a Named Driver has an accident in one of these cars and I claim, what happens to my other policy if the accident driver is not named on the other policy - eg friend crashes small car. When I renew OTHER policy, I have not had any accidents/convictions, but "I" have made a claim on another policy due to a named driver error.

Anyone know?

Not happened yet, but weighing up options as both renewals due soon, and may have to tell DD & friend I cannot afford them anymore - especially if an accident from them proves a double whammy!

Thanks

Are you the main/principal driver on both policies?

Sorry - been out!

Yes - 1 is my main going to work car. The other is for going to grotty supermarket car parks, swimmimg pool & running dog, and v.occassional use by DD

DH also has his own car & insurance.

I'm not an expert but you would need to declare that you claimed - they usually want the details

I would expect the two NCBs to continue separately so I wouldn't expect you would lose both iyswim

Thanks

I spoke to one of the companies last night & asked them. It seems they ONLY want to know about the driver of an accident, so if that driver is not on my other policy they don't need to know
