do I need a solicitor to send a LBA prior to harrassment injunction application or can I do it myself?

long story but basically PIL are harrassing us, DH has already told them he wants nothing more to do with them so now they are phoning at all hours and have threatened us. They are well known to police and they can't really do much other than warn them which does nothing. We are thinking about getting an injunction but obviously that costs money. We know a 'letter before action' needs to be sent and hoped that would be enough to scare them. Do we really need to pay a solicitor to do this or can we do it ourselves? Is there any particular wording needed? Have tried to google a downloadable one but can't find any (other than LBA for debts)

Thanks to anyone who can help.

why cant the police do anything if you have reported them for harassment?

thanks for replies - sorry, not been online till today.
We actually spoke to the police again after SIL agreed that she wanted to pursue the matter also - police have spoken to PIL again and warned them that they will be charged if there are any further instances.

So far, that's worked so we'll see how it goes.

(lou33 - it was a bit of our word against theirs so made it tough, plus DH found it hard to pursue it too much with them being his parents and all... they have pushed it too far now though)
