Making a will - advice please!

I need to make a will - mainly because I want to have the correct care for my children if something happens to us. There are loads of online will companies who I cant help but think might be a bit dodgy. I only want a basic will, nothing complicated but solicitors seem to cost a fortune... Anyone know of a good online company??

You get what you pay for generally.

DH is a solicitor who specialises in this area of law. He can make far more money out of sorting out a badly drafted DIY or will-maker will than he does from a basic will.

I would contact a solicitors and get one done properly.

If the cost is an issue then you could look out for will week, where a will can be made out for free - you are supposed to make a donation to charity instead but this is up to you.

Will week/month is in November.

Some charities will assist you in writing a very simple will (obviously they hope you will leave them something but it's not compulsory). Making guardianship statements is a lot more complicated than an 'online form' thing. Most solicitors will do it for £75 or so.
