A question about mobile phone contracts

Can anyone help? I currently have a t mobile pay monthly mobile phone, which is due to expire next month. I have been looking round for deals and have found one through tesco mobiles that offers a free tv so want to go for that one. This offer is also with t mobile so my question is whether or not I can take out a new t mobile contract nd transfer my current number onto the new deal. Does that make ANY sense?! If I changed provider it is possible to transfer the number over but I'm not sure if I can do it with the same provider.

I have tried phoning to ask but got so frustrated with pressing buttons and being put on hold that I hung up!

You should be able to as your service provider will be Tesco as opposed to t-mob
