Working Tax Credits - Available for Training?

Does anyone know whether or not Working Tax Credits are available while I do a training course? It's going to be about 6 - 12 months, and is very nominally paid.

I know that usually Working Tax Credits kick in at 16 hours, but would be grateful if anyone knew the position for training?

Is it actual employment or a placement?

ilovelovemydog · 12/01/2009 20:31

It's a placement, with a small bursary.

IIRC WTC is not paid where you get a bursary, only for actual paid employment.

WTC only available to you if you're in paid employment i.e paying tax and NI and working 16+hrs a week.
It doesn't sound like it would apply in this situation I'm afraid.
