Deposit on school place, quick question

Does anyone know what the situation is if you accept a place at a school with a deposit then give a term's notice before September.

The t&c's state that in lieu of notice you have to pay the first term fees, but am a bit hazy on whether giving a term's notice is ok if the child hasn't actually started at the school yet.

Hope that makes sense...

You'd have to give notice of not taking the place by the preceding Easter holiday or be liable for the first term's fees in full. The deposit may or may not be refundable but more usually isn't, but it might be partially offset against the final term's fees on leaving or cost of giving notice after Easter.

Thanks LIZS. I was hoping that was the case, am ok to lose deposit.

This school do ask you to accept way before any of the other schools make their offer so if I prefer a different one, I'll make sure I let them know by Easter.
