Compensation? What do you reckon?

Have 3* cover with British Gas for our boiler. They came out on Thursday as it kept blowing out and the hot water was just warm. It needed a new part which the engineer fitted Friday. However, this didn't solve the problem and the engineer ordered more parts due to arrive Monday - he condemned the boiler during the weekend so we had no heating or hot water at all. He came out Monday - no part, said he would come wed aft (today) - my mother also heard him book this in. The switch board now tell me the job is pencilled in for tomorrow aft!

Now, I have a 2 year old and am a childminder. 2 of my mindees have cancelled today dur to the fact they don't want their babies in a cold house all day which is totally understandable - they are clearly going to cancel tomorrow now too so I will have lost £130 in earnings which is pretty much all I am getting at the moment as business is slow. I have no idea what I will do about losing this money

Who should I complain to and will I be in my rights to demand compensation for loss of earnings?

Sounds horrible.

But I suspect the answer lies in your 3* contract - that will detail what their commitments to you are and what, if any, compensation you are entitled to.

Hope it's mended soon.
