Do most people pay 'card protection' insurance?

I've just been offered some and am trying to save money at the moment of course.

No, it's really expensive. If you feel you need some, you can get "proper" insurance policies which would cover a number of things, not just your credit card, but I think most people just don't bother - you'll pay off the money on the card faster if you're not paying the extra for the insurance!

What sort of 'Card Protection' insurance is this?. Loss of the actual card or proctection of the balance owed?
