Yes - well I did it on behalf of DH as he was self-employed when he took out his loan and would not have been able to claim on the PPI. The bank rejected his claim (as they would!) but we took it to the Ombudsman and they upheld it (eventhough we had hardly any of the original paperwork to show them.) He got just over £4000 back just a few months ago which he used to clear his credit card bills.

When did you take out the loan? Why do you believe you were misold?

PortofinoPumpkin · 25/10/2008 23:32

I'm guessing that at as he was self employed he would not have been able to claim?

You can claim on most policies if self employed as long as the business has been made insolvent.

they didnt tell me at all when i took it out!! Then didnt ask any health questions and i have a complex medical history which means i wouldnt be covered anyways.

Well that's not good! I'm assuming you took the loan out before January 2005.

yes 2004
