I mean it's nice I'm in credit & everything - but I really think that any credit in Oct should be saved to use over the winter

I know they have to balance it once a year or so - but why can't they choose the spring to balance.....oh yeah I never owe them anything in April because I use lots in the winter

Stupid &%$£%

Not British Gas by any chance?

KatyMac · 17/10/2008 20:52

Yep - stupid me

I would ring and argue with them - but I can't be bothered

Put it away and save it then. That way you get the (miniscule) interest too.

KatyMac · 17/10/2008 20:54

I will but I will have to pay it back in April when I owe them shed loads of money

Then at the end of the summer I will have a credit balance......so they will give it back to me

Do they have no brains?

Have you pointed this out to them and asked them to reduce your monthly payments?

ElfOnTheTopShelf · 17/10/2008 21:19

sorry for your troubles, but as soon as I saw the title I thought "I wonder if this is British Gas..."

KatyMac · 17/10/2008 21:21

The amount I pay times 12 equals my yearly payment

But if they always refund me in October I will always owe them money in April

Idiots

It's sadly when your "year end" is with them so it is an automatic refund as far as I remember.

If you are on monthly direct debit then you shouldn't be paying anything over and above your monthly amount. Your bill should say for information only.

That way the debt from April will just be rolled on through the months so no refund in October.

Yes but when DH 'sees' a bill owing money he has to pay it - he really can't cope if he doesn't........
