On checking our recent cc statement it seems that when we booked a hotel via Expedia we had received a discount of £10 but what we didn't realise was that by accepting this we had signed up for membership to Shopper Discounts who have subsequently debited £8 a month since July for the privilege of receiving more "offers" by email. These emails look like many other promotions.
We have now cancelled but our initial £10 saving has cost us £16 . Just thought I'd alert anyone who may have similarly overlooked cancelling before their free 30 day "trial" ended or perhaps signed up without realising that they could access you details and continue to charge.
