Delay in getting child benefit/allowance - anyone else?

DD2 is now 5.5 mths, and we still have not received any child benefit payments, despite the fact that all the correct forms have been filed and we've received acknowledgment of their receipt.

Is anyone else experiencing delays?

Sounds odd. As painful as it is to get through on the phone I would give them a ring.

painful is right.

They will answer eventually....

Up to a certain point, they do pack pay, iirc, form when your baby was regisered, rather than from when they were born.
So you should still get what is owed to you.

It does take them a while but didn't think it would take that long. It took about 4 months for them to deal with my claim but they had lots of queries as my DD was born abroad which confused them but they eventually sorted it out. Good news is that they have to backdate it to when you claimed so hopefully you'll get a nice lump sum in time for Christmas. They do also have a website that you can send them messages through if you haven't got the time/patience to be on hold for hours!
Make sure you also claim the £250 for the child trust fund if you haven't already.
