double transaction at Primark

I have just discovered that my shopping at Primark last week has been debited twice from my account. There was a problem with the printer at the till (no receipt) and the sales assistant told me that she needed to put it all through again. She said that the first transaction couldn't go through... but it has. I have tried phoning the store - no answer. The website only seems to have store numbers on it.

Any suggestions?

Could you go back in and speak to the manager? Or write to Head Office. If you write first class they should get it tomorrow. Give them your e-mail address and ask for an urgent response via e-mail. Vaguely hint that you are going to take up with Trading Standards if they don't respond quickly and efficiently.

I'm on the phone with bank to see what they can do... the store is 30-40 mins drive away

Good luck kiwi. Hope it gets refunded today.

bugger... I do need to go back to them!! Thanks for your suggestion OPOL - I think this is an error by the inept check-out girl rather than a store thing. Although I did question her at the time, I was gullible that it wouldn't go through twice.

Try phoning Head Office. The smae thing happened to my DH at another shop and Head Office sorted it out and credited his debit card (eventually - he did have to ring them about 50 times to remind them!)

I can't find the contact details HS - only the stores local numbers

Ring a local store (any store if can't get through to a more local one) and insist that they put you through to Head Office or give you the number of HO, or that they ring on your behalf and get someone to call you back today
