What is anyone doing with their cheques? Really don't know what is the best scheme

Going for stakeholder account, probably at Abbey. But, as I do not like the idea that I can not later control what she uses the money for (i.e. it is her to do with as she pleases when she turns 18), I do plan to top up regular payments to it. I will fund things like education from elsewhere -- where I can stipulate what it can be spent on.
