Whose responsibility is it to organise CRB check?

Employer or employee? And how frequently should it be done if a person is working for the same employer over a period of many years? Whose responsibility is it to organise updates if this is necessary?

I am confused about this whole thing. Also I heard that you cannot use the same CRB check for say your job, and your voluntary work. Is that correct?

Employers responsibility AFAIK

You have to have a seperate one for each place.

Employers responsibility. employers have the legal obligation to ensure that anyone working with children or vulnerable adults are suitable to do so.

A CRB is currently (until the system changes next year) out of date the day it is done as if you committed a crime tomorrow your employer would not be automatically informed. therefore it is bestpractice to do a new check after each break in service/new job or every 2-3 years.
