Buildings Insurance-how do I work out the 'rebuild' cost'?

WHy would you need to? Most companies will have a huge maximum only unsuitable if you live in a mansion.

It's ok thanks I found an online calculator which helped me to work it out.

You have to input how much the rebuild cost would be on insurance applications.

If it is a maisonette, it is common for the whole building to be insured and you to pay a share of the insurance via a service charge. Are you sure you are not paying for buildings insurance already?
