I know this is a bit boring but me and DP seem to be shocked at every week when we have finished our shopping - there is myself, DP and my DD (nearly 4 and a dog)we spend between £90 - and this week £115 at Tescos - does this a seem a lot to spend on a weekly shop for three people? We woudl really appreiate any ideas do reduce it or anyone else who thinks this is too much or 'normal'
thanks

Supersonic - We spend that much too in Tesco and that's after DH's staff discount!! In my opinion it's far too much, but every week we spend the same!

god I don't even buy my meat or wine from the supermarket and yet I spent £160 in Waitrose the other day

well i've been talking to DH about this, and he recons I'm lazy cos i've decided to shop at tesco.com (we can do it together and not get stressed! lol) but he recons that I/we should just go up to tesco and save the del. charges - but the thing is if he comes with me I always spend at least £30/40 more than if I was alone! not to mention he likes to be in and out so we miss half of the stuff, were as on tescos is stores things in ur basket, so u can add them as u run out. (actually that's a good idea to sell it to him) but as I told him we'll save money he's now for the idea. I recon should be About £130 ish per month once he's home plus £40 thru the month for essentials.

We spend about £90pw but that includes two packed lunches every day for DH and DS
We eat rather well though I always said that when I had money enough I'd prefer to spend it on good quality organic meat and stuff.
But have also lived on less than £30 pw when single mum and really on bones of arse.
I use markets for veg, farm shops for meat Tescos/Aldis/Lidls/Sainsburys for everything else
Also DS is on goats milk which is a bit more expensive
And we drink too much

Our weekly budget is £150 for everything (petrol, food shopping, snacks, alcohol, gym, coffee out etc). Of that between £75 & £95 is spent on groceries (shop at Sainsbury's). Meat is free range; vegetables are organic (mostly delivered by local farmer) as are eggs. No ready meals, fast food etc. All made from scratch (except baked beans!). 2 adults, 2 children. It's ok.
