I know this is a bit boring but me and DP seem to be shocked at every week when we have finished our shopping - there is myself, DP and my DD (nearly 4 and a dog)we spend between £90 - and this week £115 at Tescos - does this a seem a lot to spend on a weekly shop for three people? We woudl really appreiate any ideas do reduce it or anyone else who thinks this is too much or 'normal'
thanks

munnzieb - no, most bottles have enough room in them. Lay them on their side, so the bubble moves down the bottle a bit.

We spend at least £100 and get takeaway usually once a week. That's 4 of us and includes packed lunches for ds and me.

pickledonion · 18/02/2005 18:16

We spend roughly £80 a week that's for me dh and dd.

excellent well i'll give that a try, ooh and incedently, DH is away at the mo and last month I spent £70 on shooping for the month, which included £5.00 for bold washing powder (normally lasts 2 months) £5 for dog food £5 del charge and £6 for two plug in air freshners.

JM - do u have a wilkos nr you? they had an offer on a little while back on dishwasher tablets, BOGOF! £1.99 for 22 tabs, so I got 4 boxes, and as we only use half a tablet in each wash it really helps, (we also only use half the washing powder to make it last) everything always looks/smells clean and fresh.

Waitrose not v good for meat, I find (well, not if you are feeding more than two tiny skinny people)

Just from a choice/price aspect, ks. Their organic/free range stuff is fine but weedy size-wise (because not pumped full of hormones and water, I guess) and crashingly expensive, to my mind. You definitely can't feed three hungry adults and one toddler on their chickens...

Think it would depend on the butcher. Probably not in Surrey

hercules · 18/02/2005 18:51

I've always fancied buying organic but it looks so small for the price. Not enough of a chicken to feed family of 4.

Is if far more expensive?

iota · 18/02/2005 19:10

what's wrong with gonads and beaks? you're just squemish - offal is considered a delicacy in many parts of the world - how about chicken's feet and sheep's eyeballs?
