Are we liable for the landlord's re-letting charges?

we've been in our rental house for 5 months now. We have found a house that suits our needs better and a quick look at current tenancy agreement appears to tell us that we are responsible for paying the landlord's reletting charges which are £250! Is this normal? and surely this should have been pointed out to us upon signing the agreement?

When is your lease up? If you had a six month AST it might be easier to simply give notice and move in a couple of weeks, allowing a couple of weeks'overlap.

Under what circumstances are you liable? What does the agreement actually say?

sorry ive had another look - it appears that if we vacate the property before the 6 month term is up we are then liable - sorry.
